Volume One address
the start of Marvin's racing in the late 1940's through 1960. It
talks about his California racing days and his transition to the
east coast as a fulltime NASCAR stock car driver. He talks about
the legendary "Oakland Wall" and racing with Dick Meyer.
He provides
insight into what racing was like on the beach, roadcourses, short
tracks, dirt and asphalt, and being a member of the Ford Factory
team. Tales of racing a Valient at Daytona, Buick Endurance Tests,
Pure Oil Runs, Mexico Road Race, Racing Convertibles, Thunderbirds
and more. Marvin did whatever was required to fuel his ambition
to race and provide for his family.

Volume Two addresses
the prime years of Marvin's racing career (1961-1966). During this
period he raced with some of the best car owners of the sport including
Smokey Yunick, Ray Fox, Cotton Owens, Petty Enterprises, and of
course the Wood Brothers.
Marvin reflects
on the near disaster in 1963 to his impressive victories at super
speedways, short tracks, and road courses; all while providing insight
into his trials and tribulations in what were definitevly his best
years in racing.
Tales of piloting
"The Worlds Fastest Falcon", racing in the Bahamas, Sebring,
24-Hour Pontiac Endurance Runs and more.
Throughout both
volumes are stories of Marvin and Fireball - friends and teammates
from the early Ford Factory years.
